Smart Commute NET provides Dillon employees with the information and tools they need to make the switch from driving alone to taking transit, cycling, walking or carpooling.
Carpooling
Carpooling can save money and help clear the air. Carpool Zone is a free and secure online ride-matching tool that is available to Dillon employees. Simply go to Dillon’s Carpool Zone, enter your work hours, commute route and carpool preferences and wait to be matched up with other carpoolers! Only information pertaining to prospective matches (nickname and email) will be shared with potential carpool partners.

Cycling
Dillon provides an office bike that is available for all employees to use for errands, lunch, exercise, etc.
If you're considering using your bike as part of your commute, why not “Rack it and Rocket” with the TTC? This service is currently available to cyclists who ride their bike on nearby 24 Victoria Park and 85 Sheppard Ave East TTC bus routes. Bikes are stored at the front end of the bus. View a demonstration here.
If needed, improve your fitness by doing short evening rides to start, or try riding part of the way to work and taking public transit the rest of the way. Take a cycling course such as CAN-Bike (www.canbike.net), and read the Highway Traffic Act for information on cycling rights at www.e-laws.gov.on.ca.
Walking or Running
The average person can walk 1km in 10 minutes. If walking to work is too far, try walking to and from public transit stops. You will arrive at work feeling energized for the day!
Hybrid Cars
Dillon also has a hybrid car that can be used for business purposes.
